TASTE of CELLS

Designer: STUDIO BYCOLOR Kaori Akiyama
Material: Plaster
Technology&Process: Rhinoceros+Grasshopper

The vegetables and fruits that we eat everyday are a collection of cells which give us pleasure with their individually unique colors, shapes and tactile sensations such as bumpy, spinous and dinted textures. For this project, the designer texturized the spoon surfaces using Grasshopper to simulate the formation of cells. Moreover, they are stained with the pigments extracted from the featured vegetable, in hopes to sharpen our senses upon eating.
